Keep cool, but not so cold that you freeze over!!! A scarf keeps you warm and can be a pretty cool accessory. Most men are baffled as to how to properly wear one, and worse, many feel the wearing of a scarf is somehow effeminate. A scarf however, is essentially a simple rectangular fabric. Like any other attire, it is epitome that you pick the right one to suit your needs.
Since the chill is upon us, we have to work with the season. You can get a thick warm wooly scarf to tie in this way. This knot works best with short knitted scarves.
The ‘Arafat’ has been widely spread as the masculine scarf. This can be worn by first placing the triangular length on your chest. Pick the other tips to go around your neck and drape over your chest. ‘Arafats’ come in a wide range of colors, this allows you to rhyme the hue with whatever you are wearing.
A scarf can also be simply hung across your neck. It makes a fashion statement as well as shows you know how to keep up with the times. This however has to match with your outfit. Be careful that the scarf is not too long and does not take away from the rest of your outfit. Neutral colors are best for this ‘tie’. This also works when the sun comes out in the afternoon.
To add some color, you can drape a brightly colored scarf. In this way it will function as both a great accessory as well as a warmth device. Pink, as demonstrated by Kanye here, is not just for the ladies. =)
When you really frozen, especially early morning in Nairobi, you can wrap the scarf around your neck severally. This will look awesome-especially if it is in your pallet tone, and will keep you nice and toasty. It also doesn’t take away from your outfit. It goes with both the casual and official look.
To remain super toasty, you can get a wider scarf and just rotate it around your neck severally. This ‘tie’ looks best with a plain knitted sweater. You can top it off with a mavin or hat. Try color blocking with this look. It is bold.
Short scarves can be tied in this knot. This will make you look classy as well as prevent the scarf from falling over. Point is to keep warm, and look HOT. This scarf, and tie does both.
