Janet Mbugua finally confirmed that she has truly called it quits with Citizen TV. For some weeks now there have been unconfirmed rumours that the 33 year old anchor had resigned from the major media house.

Janet, who joined Citizen TV sometime in 2011 after leaving South Africa’s ETV, bid her fans goodbye last night after anchoring the 9 O’clock bulletin.

She thanked her fans and colleagues for supporting her and believing in her

Anne Kiguta will be replacing her.

“THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE I REALLY WANT TO THANK…..OUR VIEWERS AND COLLEAGUES, THE BOSSES HAVE BEEN AMAZING, THEY HAVE GIVEN ME A GREAT OPPORTUNITY AND A FANTASTIC PLATFORM,” SHE SAID.

Kiguta came into the studio with a cake which she said was a small token of gratitude from her colleagues.
