As you know,Lil Wayne has been in an ongoing lawsuit with Birdman’s record label Cash Money Records. Wayne was promised an $8 Million advance for recording #ThaCarterV and an additional $2 million after the project was done, but didn’t get a dime and wanted his contract with Cash Money terminated.
According to Billboard, Lil Wayne has reached a settlement with Birdman which will also release him from his record deal with Cash Money Records.Since 2014, Wayne has fought to divorce himself from the man that launched his career when he was teenager!
Yeap, teeniez outchea, watch out for your careers!
According to documents obtained by @Blast!, Wayne’s attorney, Howard King, filed a notice on May 23rd that all parties are ready for the lawsuit to be dismissed. It turns out that Wayne was paid the $10 million owed to him PLUS some! According to The Blast, Universal went ahead and paid Wayne “well over $10 million,” because they’re confident that they’ll recoup the money from Drake and Nicki Minaj’s upcoming projects.
Lil Wayne has reportedly scored a big win (8 figure) in his ongoing legal battle with Cash Money Records on Wednesday (June 6), which means his long-delayed album Tha Carter V could arrive sooner than we think.
This must be good news even to Chance The Rapper who tweeted, “WAYNE FREE.”
