It is April, and the English Premier League is on its homestretch. At a time like this, the big four (Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea) should be contending for the trophy. At least that’s how it’s been for some time till Oil money was poured into Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs decided to be badass too. Things aren’t so though. Chelsea is leading and it seems to be a one-horse-race. Tottenham Hotspurs is there, second. But the shocker is Arsenal. Arsenal. The home of sexy football! What’s going on at Arsenal?
Right now Arsenal are the proud owners of house number 6, a place that has for long been inhabited by Manchester United. Well, you can say Arsenal have games in hand and all that, but whatever the case, Arsenal is going down like a Malaysian Airplane at the Bermuda Triangle. A friend said ati Crystal Palace also beat league leaders Chelsea and it was normal to beat Arsenal but no, it ain’t normal. Arsenal was humiliated by Bayern Munich, trampled upon by Liverpool and trounced by West Bromwich Albion, West Brom!! Is that normal? With Kina Ozil, Walcott, Sanchez and Giroud?
Chelsea was in the same boat a season ago, and we saw what happened. The self-proclaimed special one was fired and the club resumed it’s winning ways (They’re winning the league, mind you). It happened to Leicester City a while back, and after Ranieri was shown the door, the club is whipping teams left, right and centre. So is it also happening in Arsenal? Are the players sabotaging the coach? What if he was told, “Hapana Mzee, Thiu Ukiumaga”? Already Sanchez’s state is clear, not happy at the club and a myriad of clubs are chasing his signature. Ozil wants to know the future of Wenger in the club before he inks a new deal.
The very famous blankets and wine had a lot to offer yesterday as they are known for not letting their fans down. An event of it’s own league and rumours are spreading that they are planing to go East African wide. The event was for all colors, shapes and styles and guys came prepared to show off their moves and swag.
The good aroma that was spreading in the air made the crowd more hungry and they couldn’t resist buying more and more. The organizers did not forget the little ones-there were two bouncing places for them.
Different bands performed to their best. Nneka from Nigeria made the crowd start gathering around the stage. Next was our very own Fena who brought along her crew consisting of Kagwe Mungai and they made the crowd feel more fresh. They performed their latest hit Kama Kawaida and peeps sang along.
The headliner AKA from South Africa took the stage together with his team and they brought the house down. Thank heavens he didn’t ‘pull a Burna Boy’ and gave they crowd more than they paid for.
The event was definitely lit and left us yearning for more.

Finally!! Towards the end of first term, we brought you a live coverage of some games in Nairobi Region’s finals held at Patch. Now, the ultimate challenge is here. Each region is going to be represented by their respective champions in the games. The games take place at two different venues, at Patch and Statoe. Let’s take a look at who meets who in each pool.
On Tuesday 11th, the action begins as each pool seeks top seed. In Basketball girls, Coastal bigwigs Kaya Tiwi are in pool B with Loreto limuru, Tigoi and kirigara. Pool A has a slot for North Eastern region, Buruburu girls (Timberland), Nyamira and St. Bridgids. I can already smell a Buruburu- Kaya Tiwi final here on Saturday when the finals are slotted. In our February magazine, we interviewed BuruBuru girls and they told us their aim is to beat Kaya Tiwi. Will they be up to the task?
And of course there is BB boys where Nairobi’s Upper Hill face off Kisumu boys and Aga Khan in Pool A while in Pool B Laiser Hill face Chavakali and Nyeri Baptist. I really wish for a battle of the Hills in this final but with the way giant’s have been slain all along through regionals to this point, anything can happen. But Uppah are hot. The thoroughly beat Highee to be the Nairobi region champions.
So Rugby. By the way, North Eastern region doesn’t have a representative in Rugby and as such Nairobi region was given two slots so Uppah and patch are in Pool A and B respectively. Bush is in Pool A (It’s in central Region, remember?) and it’s really gonna be interesting. We saw the Nairobi regional Patch take on Uppah and nothing less of tears, sweat and blood, literally. So we expect the same rivalry.
Then of course there’s hockey boys and girls. Nairobi region is represented by Parky Arya and Moi Girls. In Pool A, the mouthy-watering match will actually be between Kerugoya and Sinyolo Girls while in pool B St. Cecilia is on form currently. Ribiero Parklands beat Patch in hockey Boys but the two will be in action again. They will battle it out with Musingu, shimo la tewa and mang’u among others.
As usual, we shall bring to you live all the action via our official Facebook page The Insyder magazine.
Popular musician Jaguar was arraigned in court earlier today, and charged with reckless driving that caused loss of lives. Jaguar appeared before Principal Magistrate Evans Kiago without a representative at Baricho Law Court in Kirinyaga County. The Kigeugeu singer pleaded not guilty to the charges and was freed on KSh. 50,000 bond. The accident caused by Jaguar’s Range Rover resulted in the death of a 27-year old Bodaboda operator Peter Mugo and his passenger Sinfolian Maingi, a 25-year-old bar attendant.
The case has had Mwea Police officers under public blame for trying to cover up what many witnesses explain. It’s believed that the car was being driven by a woman, and not Jaguar himself as he claims, and witnesses have given their accounts to support this. However Jaguar insists that he was the one behind the wheel when the accident happened.
