They say one thing leads to the other and the love affair between American rapper French Montana and Uganda clearly states this. Ever since the rapper set his foot in the Pearl of Africa,
a lot has happened between the two. He shot a video there with Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee which went ahead to rake huge number of views in YouTube making it one of the rapper’s most successful videos. He had featured Ghetto Kids, the famous kids who danced in Eddy Kenzo’s Sitya loss.
Over the weekend, French Montana went a step further and donated $100,000 (KSh. 10 M )to a health centre in Uganda. Suubi Health Centre in Lubanda village, Iganga district received the donation via mama Hope which is an organisation which supports entrepreneurship worldwide to help uplift kids from tough backgrounds. He had visited women and children supported by the organisation and felt touched. In an interview with Billboard, the Comoros-born rapper said, ““It touched my heart when I went out there. I wanted to give them the shirt off my back and help as soon as possible.“. He said he learned about Mama Hope through a mutual friend.
As if that’s not enough, the rapper has started a social media dance challenge going by the name “#Unforgetabledancechallenge where he is asking his fans to take part and donate the little they can to help the Mama Hope Non-Profitable Organization. “I feel like sometimes God puts you in a platform where you’re supposed to help other people.”
