Three dormitories have been razed down at Rioga Secondary school in Nyamira County forcing the students who were in for holiday tuition, to walk out. The fire broke out in the wee hours of Sunday morning. That was around 4:30 am. The fierce inferno razed down property of unknown value. The students who were attending holiday tuition weeks after the schools were officially closed, had no other option but to walk out of the school.
This incident comes even after the ministry of education banned holiday tuition. Even though no casualties were reported, this might prove more costly than they thought especially to the teachers. The legal implications of the situation are far worse and some teachers and education officials might even lose their job.
