Ronaldo Bebeto Sichenje could make history by becoming the first Kenyan to play for one of Europe’s greatest football teams FC  Barcelona.

The 17 year old who hails from Bungoma County has been admitted to the Catalan giants’ famed La Masia Academy after being spotted by the Aspire Dream Tournament scouts at the term two ball games.

The talented youngster is the captain of 13-time secondary school national champions Kakamega High School popularly known as Green Commandoes.

Bebeto will be the first Kenyan to be trained in a FIFA recognized academy that sets him apart from local titans such as Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama, Dennis Oliech and MacDonald Mariga.

La Masia,which is the name of FC Barcelona’s football training facilities,has produced some of the best football stars which includes the likes of Mess,Xavi,Iniesta among others.

The youth academy holds more than 300 young players, and has been praised since 2002 as one of the best in the world.
