Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni surprised residents of Kyeirumba village in Isingiro District,Uganda after he stopped his entourage and made a phone call by the roadside.
Museveni,who had just attended the World Population Day commemoration,sat on a chair and spoke on the phone for close to 30 minutes as he acknowledged cheers from the residents with his trademark thumb sign.
He asked his security not to block traffic as he made the call.
The residents later lauded Museveni for tarmacking the 74km road that links Uganda to Tanzania through Kikagati in Isingiro district.
The road was constructed at a cost of USh178 billion.
