Michael Phelps, who is widely considered to be the greatest Olympian of all time (with 18 Gold medals as of the 2012 Olympics), solidified that status by winning his 19th Gold in the 4*100 relay.

This was Phelps’ 5th participation in the Olympics (dating back his 2000 Olympics debut at the age of 15); although he didn’t receive a medal on his first try, he has consistently won in all the subsequent Olympics. Not bad for a guy who only came out of retirement 2 years ago.
