The windscreen of Cord leader Raila Odinga‘s armored car was shattered yesterday during opposition demonstrations against the electoral commission in Nairobi.

Raila was in the grey sports utility vehicle and Cord said it was an attack on his life. It said bullets were fired. The police said they had reports of shooting in the area but said no live ammunition was used.

It was not known what shattered the windscreen but it appeared to be a single projectile. Raila drove off after the incident. Tumult erupted during the peaceful anti-IEBC demonstration.

Cord is expected to go to court today to petition for the removal of the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission commissioners.
